Behind the Scenes: West U Install

Join us on an exciting journey through the install week process for our West University project! Over the past two years, we've collaborated with Newberry Architecture and CAM Construction to transform this 1920s home. Last weekend marked the long-awaited reveal to our clients, and we're thrilled to share the intricate steps of our installation process, from elegant drapery to the final touches with accessories. Let's dive in and explore the magic of this project together!

window treatments

Our installation process commenced with a focus on window treatments, prioritizing their installation before anything else. During the construction phase, our window treatment installer meticulously measured each window according to the specified treatment for every space. This detailed planning ensured a seamless installation process and set the stage for the rest of our design!

rugs

Our next move was to install rugs throughout the house, a step we eagerly anticipated after sourcing them early in the design phase. In addition to new rugs for our client, we incorporated some of their existing ones, expertly cleaned and delivered alongside the new ones. Following our detailed space plans, we strategically placed each rug, adjusting and maneuvering until they harmonized perfectly with our planned furniture placement.

furnishings

The furniture installation process spanned two days due to the substantial amount of furniture involved. Our exceptional team delivered and installed both the client's new and existing pieces, following our furniture layouts to the letter!

Prior to delivery, our skilled furniture refinisher worked tirelessly to restore every antique piece sourced for the project, as well as the client's own furniture. This dedication ensures that each item is in optimal condition, setting the stage for an unforgettable reveal!

art and mirrors

The day following the furniture installation, our art installer adorned the house with carefully curated art pieces. We sourced art from Mont Art House, reframed some of the client's existing pieces, and even framed old wallpaper scraps discovered during the demolition process!

Despite having a planned layout for each art piece, we prefer installing art after furniture placement. This allows us to adapt and ensure each piece is hung in the perfect spot, considering how furniture placements may influence the overall aesthetics.

bedding

There's nothing quite like a freshly-made bed! Our next step in the installation process is to ensure that every bed looks magazine-worthy. It's all about creating a luxurious and inviting atmosphere in every bedroom.

accessories

Our final and most exciting phase of the installation process is to add the finishing touches and accessorize each space! We love sourcing accessories from our favorite local vendors and incorporating unique vintage finds from Round Top to add character. Mixing in our client's existing accessories, like fabulous antique radios and showstopping lamps, adds a personal touch that truly makes the space feel like home.

the grand reveal

With all phases of the installation complete and the addition of florals and plants to infuse life into the home, the moment finally arrived to reveal the project to our clients! Saturday morning was a celebration as we popped a bottle of champagne and led our clients through their new home. Joined by the incredible teams from Newberry Architecture and CAM Construction, along with the clients' closest friends eager to see the finished space, it was a moment of pure joy! This project wouldn't have been possible without such an exceptional team, and we're grateful for the collaborative effort that brought this vision to life. Cheers to a successful project and many happy memories in their new home!
