MEET EMILY
Emily June Spanos
Principal Designer + Founder
Guided by intuition, storytelling, and a deep appreciation for color, Emily Spanos brings a warm, discerning eye to every project she undertakes. A fourth-generation Houstonian and founder of Emily June Designs, Emily launched her studio in 2016 after more than a decade of shaping interiors for Houston’s most design-savvy homeowners.
Known for her thoughtful layering of texture, pattern, and color, Emily creates and curates homes that feel both timeless and deeply personal—spaces where comfort and character live side by side. Clients often describe her as creative, grounded, and unexpectedly imaginative—a designer who listens deeply and translates what she hears into interiors that feel as good as they look.
Emily believes great design starts with connection: to place, to purpose, to the people who call a space home. Whether she’s restoring a historic property or starting from the ground up, her work balances beauty with practicality, honoring each client’s story through expressive, enduring design.
Outside of the studio, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and young son exploring Houston parks, weekend spots, and their family ranch. She is also an active member of The Junior League of Houston and the Kappa Alpha Theta Houston Alumnae Chapter, and is passionate about serving the local community and sharing her love of thoughtful design.
MEET COURTNEY
Courtney Finnen
Junior Designer
Curious, creative, and deeply attuned to the power of personal connection, Courtney approaches her work with both heart and precision. A Houston native, she earned her degree in Interior Design from Sam Houston State University, where she discovered how her lifelong passion for art and aesthetics could evolve into a meaningful career.
During her time as an intern and Design Assistant at Emily June Designs, Courtney quickly became an integral part of the team, admired for her thoughtful attention to detail and love of layered, livable spaces. Now a full-time Junior Designer, she approaches each project with a desire to understand not just how a space should look, but how it should feel and function for the people who live there.
Courtney finds joy in the quiet nuances of residential design—from sourcing just the right vintage piece to understanding how a client’s daily rhythms can be supported through thoughtful spatial planning.
Outside the studio, you can find Courtney exploring antique shops for hidden treasures or immersed in her latest art project, always chasing creativity in new forms.
