Curating Character with Schumacher

Great design happens at the intersection of purpose and beauty. We select the layers that tell a home’s story. When it comes to finding that perfect balance between tradition and modern vibrance, we often turn to the iconic house of Schumacher. Their collections allow us to speak a language of living, one that is layered and quietly expressive. Here is a look at how we incorporate Schumacher’s curated pieces into our projects.

Living Room Layers

In this living room design, we draped the armchairs in a deep blue Schumacher performance velvet textile. It remains durable in this high-traffic area of the home, holding up to spills and everyday use. To add depth to the millwork, we lined the back of the bookshelves with a lovely light blue Schumacher grasscloth wallpaper. This subtle contrast against the white paint highlights our clients' curated accessories.

Elevated Dining

For the dining room in our English Traditionalist project, we chose a Schumacher performance fabric in velvety red for the chairs. To ensure the beauty lasts, we used a more durable fabric on the seats, showing that a sophisticated look can coexist with real-world durability.

In the nearby breakfast nook, we leaned into a cheerful continuity. We used the same lemon fabric found in the kitchen for the custom Roman shades, carrying that same color palette across the architectural transition to keep the space feeling bright and intentional.

A Shared Vision: Our Schumacher Collaboration

Design is a dialogue between the designer and the heritage of the materials we choose. We recently took this conversation a step further by partnering with our Schumacher showroom for a special collaborative feature. Join the conversation on Instagram. Refined Serenity

In this primary bedroom, we opted for a stunning damask print in green on a teal background. It is a bold pattern in a serene colorway; a sophisticated choice that is difficult to see from a distance yet reveals its intricate beauty the closer you get, or as the natural light dances across it.

This philosophy extends into the sanctuary of the bathroom. We chose a small-scale, modern pattern to contrast the traditional brass fixtures. The light colorway brightens the space, ensuring the pattern adds interest without overwhelming the room's architectural lines.

Pattern Play

We had the joy of designing bedrooms for two daughters with different styles and personalities. Schumacher’s vast library allowed us to perfectly match each of their unique styles with a fun wallpaper. From dark, moody abstracts to bright, floral-inspired patterns, we created two distinct retreats that still felt part of a cohesive home narrative.

All in the Details

Sometimes, the most impactful statement is the smallest detail. We chose a striped Schumacher trim to finish the leading edge of the drapery panels in this primary bedroom. It’s a quiet contrast that adds structure and soul to a simple window treatment, giving a slightly more tailored look.

Bringing the Outdoors In

We leaned into our client’s softer, more feminine vibe for this living room design. We incorporated this whimsical Schumacher butterfly print on a custom bench, surrounded by a pastel palette that feels both fresh and timeless. To complete the story, we paired these textures with an expansive gallery wall, anchoring the room’s playful energy with a sense of history.
