Spring Inspiration in Local Spaces
As the seasons shift and the Houston humidity begins its gentle ascent, there is a distinct rhythm to a spring-to-summer transition; a time for layered textures, fresh blooms, and intentional gatherings. Whether you are hosting friends or spending a day shopping, we’ve curated a guide to the places and pieces that embody our "layered and intuitive" approach to living.
A Taste of the City
Great design is rooted in the connection that makes a space feel truly lived-in, and Houston’s culinary scene offers the same sense of charm. We often find ourselves drawn to the elevated atmosphere of Annabelle Brasserie (where the avocado toast is a must-try) or the beautiful Marigold Club. Both spaces’ interior decor is as thoughtfully composed as their menus.
For those slower, more rhythmic mornings, Agnes Cafe & Provisions and Tiny Boxwoods remain our perennial favorites; we love the limestone and greenery at Tiny’s that provide a breath of fresh air. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy brunch with your family or friends. To close out a day of exploration, a stop at Winfield’s Chocolate Bar for one of their artisanal chocolate bars, providing a sweet end to a well-designed day.
Where to Shop
For those seeking a layered interiors store, Hunt & Bloom is a true gem. Its meticulously curated offerings, from mid-century barware to antique French bookplates, resonate with us. Kuhl-Linscomb fuses modern innovation with tradition. Its multi-building campus feels part gallery, part residence, offering rare apothecary finds and more.
For the wardrobe, we find ourselves returning to Cheeky Vintage, where each piece is thoughtfully considered for its personality and fashion history. It is a space that encourages you to embrace your individuality. Tootsies will forever remain as a Houston staple. Their personal approach to styling ensures that every find feels like a reflection of the person wearing it.
As we embrace this new season and the refreshed identity of our studio, we invite you to move through the city with mindfulness. Beauty is so often found in the deliberate details; whether you’re uncovering a hidden vintage treasure, lingering over a quiet meal on a vine-covered terrace, or selecting that one perfect stem to brighten your home. We hope this guide inspires you to explore Houston with a new, intentional lens.
Styled for Summer
Moving from spring into the vibrancy of summer, a wardrobe should mirror expressive sensibility through breathable textures and soft silhouettes. We love this fluid maxi dress that transitions seamlessly into your summer wardrobe. With its scalloped neckline and bold yellow-and-pink blooms, it's perfect for a sunny outdoor brunch. The dress is grounded with these lovely pink Loeffler Randall flats and a unique woven handbag. To complete the look, this coral bracelet from Cheeky Vintage adds a nice finish.
Bringing the Outside In: Blooms & Hosting
At the heart of our studio is the belief that "nothing is accidental." When hosting, especially for meaningful moments like Mother's Day, the details matter. We find our floral inspiration at Freedom Floral and Thompson + Hanson, where an intuitive arrangement can provide that fresh feeling we strive for in every home.
