Jewelry for the Home
While finishes and furniture establish a room's structure, the final layers are what make a home feel layered and well-balanced. We like to think of these finishing touches as "jewelry for the home." Elements like cabinetry hardware, plumbing fixtures, and lighting act as the final accents to a perfect outfit—and they deserve just as much consideration as the home's architectural bones.
Complimentary Colors
In our English Traditionalist dining room, we embraced bold color choices to give the space character and definition. Accenting the rich red velvet of the traditional dining chairs are the custom finish chandelier lampshades in shade bookish red—a bespoke finish designed in collaboration with The Urban Electric Co.
Playful and Sophisticated Lighting
When designing bedrooms, we believe that they should feel both comfortable and sophisticated. This custom purple chandelier from The Urban Electric Co. does exactly that, anchoring the space with a sense of playful refinement. Two brass and milk-glass sconces flank the fireplace, adding warm light and dimension into the wall of custom built-ins.
Darker Details
Natural finishes, organic curves, and bright blues bring the outdoors inside in this master bath. A black faucet grounds the design with a touch of contrast, serving as one of the subtle yet striking details that make this space complete.
Brass and Built-Ins
On these custom built-ins, a neutral backdrop is elevated by thoughtful details that complete the space. Brushed brass mesh provides both privacy and rich visual contrast on the bar cabinet, nesting perfectly within this nook's touch of personal pop art. Nearby, the dining built-ins are completed with matching brass hardware, including a flat brass plate for the swinging door leading to the kitchen—a cohesive choice that feels thoughtful and unique in a residential setting.
It’s All In the Details
In our Belmont primary bath, the plumbing fixtures, window hardware, lighting, and cabinetry hardware come together to quietly polish the space. The chandelier, freestanding bathtub faucet, and cabinet pulls all share a striking, polished brass finish. Although Emily often loves to mix metals, this coordinated brass hardware beautifully complements the soft, powdery green of the cabinetry. Meanwhile, black curtain rods offer a striking contrast to the light, small-scale printed wallcovering and natural lighting around the bathtub. Every accessory element blends together seamlessly to create a timeless, elegant retreat.
Making a Statement
In this dining room, the lighting fixtures take center stage above the tablescape. Finished with a dark, brushed bronze finish, these woven baskets add texture and balance, making the room's proportions feel natural and well-designed.
Jewelry for the Kitchen
In this kitchen, we integrated every appliance and feature seamlessly, utilizing clean lines for optimal storage and visual balance. The brass hardware not only complements the powder blue color drenching, but it also intuitively defines the storage zones and functionality of each cabinet. When selecting hardware, our team intentionally mixes knobs and pulls to give the custom cabinetry a curated, collected feel rather than a stark showroom look.
